Double-Sided Adhesive Film

A film carrier sits between the adhesive layers and affects handling and dimensional stability. A transfer film has no such intermediate carrier and may conform more closely to a surface; processing and die cutting can be more demanding. These are differences in construction, not general suitability claims. Check the carrier, adhesives on both sides and conditions of use for the specific product.

It may be suitable when the intended joining process permits activation by heat. Pressure-sensitive systems bond without that activation step. Temperature, parts and process must match the information for the specific film; its name alone establishes neither a particular bond strength nor approval for your component. OCA stands for Optically Clear Adhesive, an optically clear adhesive for transparent bonds. A product being called OCA foil, OCA film or OCA adhesive does not by itself define its construction. The assigned product, its optical information, the parts and processing method are decisive. The individual OCA subpages address the relevant selection questions.

State both parts to be joined, their surfaces, the required bonding area and the conditions during processing and use. For converting, we also need the required width, shape and supply format. Krückemeyer GmbH can cut suitable adhesive materials or provide die-cut parts; feasibility depends on the material and geometry.
