SELECT AND CONVERT SELF-ADHESIVE FILMS
Self-adhesive Films for Industrial Components
Self-adhesive films protect surfaces, join components or perform a technical function, depending on the product. Choose by task, material structure and processing; Krückemeyer GmbH will assess the suitable product and its conversion with you.

Selection criteria
What is the film required to do?
Begin with the intended result: should the film protect a surface, join two parts or provide a defined electrical, optical or surface function? Then check the actual backing and adhesive layer, both joining surfaces or the substrate, conditions of use and subsequent processing. A property of the film material does not automatically apply to the adhesive layer or the finished component.

SELECTION FOR YOUR APPLICATION
Assess material, function and delivery format together
For self-adhesive films, the required function is only part of the choice. Assess protective films by substrate, processing, protection period and removal; for double-sided adhesive films, both joining surfaces and the layer structure matter. Electrical insulation, conductivity and shielding, as well as optical properties, each depend on the structure of the specific product. Compare the data for the actual article with your conditions of use.
Krückemeyer GmbH can convert suitable starting materials into application-specific sizes and shapes. For roll width, contour, liner or handling aid, describe the product, component and process; feasibility depends on the material and geometry. Use the consultation form below the listing.

QUESTIONS ABOUT FILM SELECTION
How do self-adhesive films for protection and bonding differ?
Selection begins with the task at the component. A protective film covers a surface during a defined period of use or processing; a double-sided adhesive film joins two parts. Suitability still depends on the particular product structure and the substrate information. For protective films, clarify the protection period and eventual removal. For bonding, consider both surfaces, the load and the processing method. Krückemeyer GmbH assesses suitable starting materials and possible cut formats using these details.
What information helps you choose a protective film?
Tell us the substrate, the protection task, the processing steps, the intended period of use and how the film is to be removed. A film used during one manufacturing step raises different questions from one that remains on a part through transport or further processing. Adhesion, removal and surface compatibility must be checked against the specific product and, where possible, the actual component. If the dimensions or shape are known, they can also inform the assessment of a suitable converted format.
Is every technical film electrically insulating or conductive?
No. “Technical film” does not identify a single electrical property. Electrical insulation, conductivity and shielding are different tasks. The material structure must match the required function in each case. Neither antistatic behaviour nor electrostatic adhesion can be inferred from the general label. Describe the required function, component and conditions of use first. The relevant product data and any possible conversion can then be assessed.
Can a selected film be supplied as a cut piece or die-cut part?
Krückemeyer GmbH processes suitable films and other windable starting materials, including through cutting and die-cutting. Whether a specific product can be made in the requested width, contour or delivery format depends on the material and geometry. Give us the selected product or required function, dimensions, shape and planned processing steps. This lets us assess material suitability and conversion together.
