SELF-ADHESIVE COLORED FILMS
Colored film for lettering and graphics
Self-adhesive colored films add color to lettering, graphics and visible surfaces. Choose the film to suit your design, substrate and conditions of use; Krückemeyer GmbH can help you select the appropriate supply format.

Selection criteria
Which colored film suits your design and substrate?
The required color and finish, the shape of the substrate and subsequent exposure all affect selection. The documented Scotchcal ranges also differ in film construction: Series 50 is calendered, while Series 100 is cast. Both manufacturer documents describe suitability for computer-controlled cutting systems; the application limits and processing conditions must be checked for the chosen series.

CHOOSE COLORED FILM
Consider color, finish and processing together
For lettering and graphics, the color alone is not enough: the film must also suit the intended substrate. The manufacturer's information for Scotchcal Series 50 specifies flat to slightly curved surfaces; Series 100 is also described for curved surfaces. Check the specific variant and application conditions before applying a statement about a range to your project.
If you need colored film as a cut piece or die-cut part, tell us the design, dimensions, substrate and required supply format. We will review the material and converting options for your application.

QUESTIONS ABOUT COLORED FILMS
Which colored film is suitable for curved surfaces?
It depends on the film series and how strongly the surface curves. The manufacturer's information for Scotchcal Series 50 specifies flat to slightly curved surfaces; Series 100 is also described for curved substrates. This does not establish suitability for every contour. Check the information for the specific product, the substrate and the application instructions before selecting a colored film. Tell us about the component geometry if you need help choosing a variant.
How can the color of a multi-part graphic stay consistent?
Parts that form one area of color should come from the same production batch. The manufacturer documents for the Scotchcal ranges advise this to reduce visible color differences. With metallic variants, the direction in which the film is applied can also affect its appearance. Include the design, required parts and desired color in your inquiry so that material selection and converting can be reviewed together.
Can colored film be used outdoors?
Outdoor use should be assessed for the specific film and its application conditions. Manufacturer information distinguishes between colors, climate zones, orientation and exposure to light. Substrate preparation and cleaning also affect the period of use. A single durability claim for all colored films would therefore be misleading. Check the information for the chosen variant and describe the location and expected exposure when you make an inquiry.
Can colored film be supplied as lettering or a shaped part?
A suitable colored film can be cut for lettering and graphics; the manufacturer documents describe processing with computer-controlled cutting systems. Krückemeyer GmbH also converts suitable films for specific applications. Whether a particular design is suitable as a cut or die-cut part depends on the material, geometry and desired supply format. Send us the outline and details of the substrate so that we can review the options for your application.
